Way to go, Church!
Each year our church serves as a designated local drop-off for Operation Christmas Child. This year, our goal as a church was to collect 1,000 boxes.
Crossroads (including the Oaks & MOPS) collected 1275 boxes - a 20% increase over last year, and our biggest year ever!
This year, we were part of a new area called the "Palmetto Region", with collections at the Crossroads Gym from Orangeburg, Berkeley and Dorchester counties. We had a stretch goal of 17,000 boxes for 2015 and finished with 16,575. That is 16,575 Gospel opportunities!
Dave & Debbie Waters faithfully operated the collection center as volunteers for Samaritan's Purse and had the help of 25 other volunteers - mostly from our church, to pack those boxes into big boxes and load the trucks. In fact, the two trailers that were delivered to fill were not sufficient, and they had to order a 3rd truck!
Thank you Crossroads for pulling together to surpass our goal.
Now that the boxes are out of our hands, they are on their way to children in need all around the world.
