Merry Christmas Crossroads family---
Christmas week is typically a busy, hurried time. Last minute shopping, family travel, and the festive holiday spirit keep us moving at an accelerated pace. My prayer for you this week is safety, blessing, and moments to reflect on Christ’s birth and his influence on our lives. Like most families, we always read the birth narratives in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke as fresh reminders of the season. Several years ago I added the text from the Apostle Paul’s Epistle to the Colossians, Chapter 1, verses 15-23, which I have entitled the Glorious Christ. Please take a moment and read this text. My prayer is that you will encounter Christ in a new, abiding way.
We’ll turn the calendar in a few days now and enter 2021. Already, I’m sensing what a special year this is going to be for Crossroads Community Church. After much study and prayer, I’ll be preaching through the book of Deuteronomy in a series entitle Promised Land Ahead: You’ve Stayed Long Enough at This Mountain. Please pray that these messages will prepare us to move forward into these exciting days and the joys our Lord is preparing for us.
As announced in our recent family meeting, our Elders will be announcing our Pastor Search Committee soon. Add the pastor search process to your prayer list as the team is announced and trained. Their assignment will bless this church for many years to come.
My prayer is that you are planning to join us for Christmas Eve worship this Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. Joey Baham, our worship teams, and others have designed a prepared a worship service that will honor Christ and prepare us to celebrate his birth.
Know my joy in serving you in these days, Merry Christmas!
Sonny Holmes, Interim Pastor
