In personal prayer and Bible study this week I’ve been impressed to step away from our Deuteronomy Promised Land Ahead series for the next two weeks. The Easter season begins this Sunday and I’ll address Scriptural guidance regarding Christ’s Triumphal Entry and death, burial, and glorious resurrection. You already know that Easter Sunday is typically the highest attendance day in the church year. My personal conviction is that the Gospel should be preached with clarity on such occasions. So, we’ll give Deuteronomy a break for a couple of weeks and will resume that study after Easter.
Saturday, March 28, 2021, will be a church workday. Our Facilities Director, John Evans has a fine list of projects for us to complete pending good weather conditions. So, bring your gloves, rakes, shovels, pruners, and trucks as we do a little spring cleaning in anticipation of Easter Sunday. Hours are 9:00 a.m. till noon.
Several Ladies Bible Studies will begin the week after Easter. Ecclesiastes: Life Under the Sun will begin April 20, Sweeter than Chocolates on-line study will begin April 13. The Gospel of Matthew will be taught in Sunday night Discipleship beginning April 11. These are blessed opportunities to go deeper into the Word of God with other believers. Make you plans to attend.
Please remember our Closet of Hope collection of children’s socks and underclothing to provide assistance to foster families. Your gifts to the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center last month were abundant and inspiring. Let’s continue that local mission spirit in this work with Closet of Hope.
There are many prayer concerns. Among them, please keep the members of our Pastor Search Team in your daily prayer time. They are Pat Carter (Chair), Ann Almers, Steven Brice-Nash, Abby Brice-Nash, Scott Courtney, Rochelle Saxon, and Gary Weber.
Blessings for a great week. Thank you for the privilege of serving with you---
Sonny Holmes, Interim Pastor
